The visa is the address. The company is the invoice.
Nearly every digital nomad visa is granted on the condition that your income comes from outside the country granting it. That condition is easiest to satisfy when the income arrives through a company incorporated elsewhere, billing clients elsewhere.
Hong Kong asks nothing of your address
No local director, no local shareholder, no requirement to set foot in the territory to keep the company running. If none of your directors, shareholders or employees is a Hong Kong resident, you add a designated representative at a published annual fee, and that is the whole difference.

Do I need a digital nomad visa to own a Hong Kong company?
No. A Hong Kong company needs no local director or shareholder, and owning one does not depend on where you live. The two decisions are separate: the company is where you invoice from, the visa is where you sleep.
Does a digital nomad visa let me work for local clients?
Almost never. These visas are granted on the condition that your income comes from outside the host country — which is exactly why a company incorporated somewhere else, invoicing clients somewhere else, is the shape most applicants arrive in.
What is the income figure in the table?
The minimum income the programme requires, converted to US dollars a year. Most schemes state it monthly and want three to six months of bank statements or contracts as proof. Always check the official source before you rely on a number.
Will living abroad change where my company pays tax?
It can, and it is the single most important question to get right. Where you are tax resident, and where your company is treated as managed and controlled, are questions for a tax adviser who knows both countries. We do not advise on tax and neither does this page.
Can you apply for the visa for me?
No. We are a Hong Kong trust or company service provider, not an immigration firm, and we give no immigration advice. The programme data here comes from AbroadBase, who track these schemes and handle applications; each row links straight to their page for that visa.
Do I have to visit Hong Kong to set the company up?
You have to meet us once, and a short video call counts. As a licensed TCSP we verify the people and the company before we file, but the meeting can happen from wherever you are, and everything else runs through your client portal.
Will a nomad visa lead to permanent residency?
Sometimes. The last column shows whether time on the visa counts toward permanent residency in that country — for many schemes it does not, which is the detail people most often discover too late.
