Change your registered office address
Moving your registered office takes a board resolution and Form NR1, filed within 15 days. Draft the resolution here, free.
When you need this document
The registered office is where the Companies Registry, the Inland Revenue Department and the courts will send anything that matters. Changing it is quick; forgetting to file the change is what causes the trouble, because service at the old address still counts as service on the company.
Every Hong Kong company must maintain a registered office in Hong Kong — it’s where government mail and legal notices are served. When the address changes (new office, new service provider, or switching to a virtual office), the board resolves to change it and the company files Form NR1 within 15 days. The change is effective from the date stated, not from filing.
